Marathon #80 (sub-4 state #27, second round state #9): Philadelphia Marathon, PA

3:58 finish, 3321/8989 place overall. Nicely supported, mostly flat course through downtown area and local parks. Cold wind made it a challenge, but still slightly broke four hours.

Marathon #79: Suffolk County Marathon, Patchogue, NY

3:58 finish, 95/334 place overall. Second time doing this race - this year with a slightly different course - starting in Patchogue, running west on Montauk Highway, through Heckscher, and finishing back in Patchogue. Started strong, struggled late with unseasonably warm temperatures, still barely managed a sub-4 finish.

Marathon #78 (second round state #8): Freedoms Run Marathon, Harpers Ferry, WV

4:09 finish, 96/314 place overall. Scenic historic course running through Harper's Ferry, crossing into MD and along C & O Canal Trail, through Antietam Battlefield, then finishing back in WV. Muddy trail in first half and steep hills in later miles made for a tougher than expected race.

Marathon #77 (second round state #7): Jackson Hole Marathon, WY

4:11 finish, 55/211 place overall.  Small, friendly race with great views of the Tetons. High altitude and two-week turnaround slowed me down as expected, but with cool weather and a fairly flat course, it wasn't too bad.

Marathon #75 (second round state #6): Morgan Valley Marathon, Morgan, UT

4:16 finish, 29/90 place overall. Nice course through residential and farm areas in and around Morgan, UT - just northeast of Salt Lake. Heat, hills, altitude, and a two-week turnaround made for a very sluggish second half, but still broke the 4:30 goal.

Marathon #73: Los Angeles Marathon, CA

4:23 finish, 2811/20619 place overall. Nice well-supported course from Dodger Stadium to Santa Monica, passing many LA landmarks and neighborhoods. Unseasonably warm with some moderate hills. Given the conditions and a nagging leg soreness, my only goal was to break 4:30. Crappy time compared to my usual, but about what I expected.
