4:11 finish, 1151/2041 place overall. Sunny and seasonably cool early spring day - great for running. Mostly flat course and much to look at running past many D.C. landmarks. Average time; 13 seconds slower than Disney.

Welcome! This blog gives a summary of each marathon with finish time/place, course info, conditions, and links to performance data and travel photos. There are also separate pages listing marathons in different countries/continents, states, and Canadian provinces as well as general info about my running background, frequently asked questions, and advice for anyone looking to start running or exercising more. This blog is linked on my Facebook page, but I'm very rarely on social media otherwise.

Marathon #6 (state #3): Disney World Marathon, FL
4:11 finish, 2733/14940 place overall. Perfectly flat course, very entertaining through the parks but relatively dull in-between, good running weather but the sun got a little warm in later miles. Average time for me, improvement over NYC but nothing spectacular.

Marathon #5: New York City Marathon, NY
4:18 finish, 18891/37899 place overall. Ideal running conditions with great support as usual for NYC. Generally sluggish throughout course due to inadequate mileage in training. Not my best day despite good conditions.

Marathon #4 (state #2): Catalina Marathon, CA
4:42 finish, 236/609 place overall. Hilly but very scenic course over mostly unpaved roads on Catalina Island. Minimal crowd support until the last mile in Avalon, but great scenery made up for it. Foggy early, but cleared up nicely as race went on allowing for great views. Started off strong, even on the hills, but hit “wall” on huge hill around mile 20 and slowed down considerably.
